Product Design Engineer

General:
In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the successful launch of a new product, applying project management skills and solid understanding of company systems. Work with the Program Leader to coordinate the efforts of various departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Prototype, Laboratory, Quality and Operations to ensure that customer requirements are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate will have experience in liquid, or air filtration. Candidates with excellent project management, research & development skills, inventions, concept validation and product development skills will also be highly considered and valued.
Specific:
1. Responsible for all technical aspects of product development including design, drawing reviews (including GD&T), coordinating reliability testing, supplier support, product launch and production support, including international locations.
2. Works with Program Leaders for all phases of product launch activities involving interfacing with other company disciplines, including but not limited to APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R testing, purchasing of test samples, sample/production delivery schedules, budget management, and PPAP.
3. Team participation. Active team membership, develop trust. Focused, Results oriented.
4. Develops parts and assemblies capable of meeting all company and customer requirements with regards to cost, quality, delivery, safety and continuous improvement.
5. Resolves relevant technical issues and problems as required
6. Assists with Quality Assurance activities specifically related to the customer through the start-up phase of the project.
7. Represents the Company in outside discussions with customers, suppliers, and technical forums through completion of the project.
8. Reports technical program status on a weekly basis to management.
9. Minimum travel required (up to 10% of the time).
Education:
1. Equivalent to BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or AS Degree and related experience.
Experience:
1. Minimum of 2 years in related work.
2. Must be an effective communicator both orally and in writing and computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Products. Previous ProE or Solid Edge CAD experience a plus.
3. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and oral.
