This position will report directly to the GM, Global Distribution & Logistics. As the manager of Global Transportation, you will lead the Global Transportation team and oversee contracted providers for day-to-day activities. Additionally, the selected candidate will represent Pratt & Whitney on the UTC Logistics Executive Council as well as several executive chaired material overhead committees.
The manager of Global Transportation will be responsible for creating and implementing logistics and transportation strategies for the company-wide transportation requirements (annual spend of approximately $132M), incorporating best-in-class processes and procedures, and advancement of transportation and logistics to support new programs.
Key Functions:
- Develop global network optimization
- Support Pratt & Whitney business unit operational requirements and international sourcing initiatives
- Manage carrier relations
- Standardize global engine center transportation processes
- Engage import/export compliance
The key objectives of this position are to improve service levels for all customers while maximizing savings, driving common processes throughout the company, and ensuring communication and education of policies and practices in support of these goals.
This position requires teamwork and influencing/negotiating skills to successfully work with multiple organizations and ensure commitment to the centralized transportation and logistics processes.

Requirements:
Bachelors' Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply management or Related field is required.
Advanced degree a plus. 5 years of experience is required.
- The successful candidate should have expertise in transportation and logistics, and operational skills pertaining to all modes of domestic and international transport, including customs brokerage.
- Experience in contract negotiations is required.
- Additional technical knowledge of IATA, DOT, HAZ MAT, NMCSA, and CT-PAT requirements and programs is strongly desired. Exposure to SAP and logistical software optimization systems would be a plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
