Senior IT Specialist, International Trade Compliance

The Pratt & Whitney IT Security, Export & Compliance team is a seeking a highly motivated individual to act as application architect focused on automated compliance controls and overall application security. The selected candidate will work closely with P&W; Legal, key business partners and teams across the IT organization to integrate consistent and scalable compliance controls in to application designs.
Candidate will also lead various aspects of Pratt & Whitney's IT Export and Compliance program by defining and documenting standards, advising peers on best practices and proactively identifying risk areas across our enterprise systems.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead the design of integrated IT solutions to address common compliance risks across our enterprise systems including ERP, MES and PLM
Work closely with key IT suppliers to ensure solutions and processes adhere to UTC Corporate and IT Policy and International Trade Compliance requirements
Apply a strong technical understanding to support new technology deployments that further mistake proof against trade compliance risks and protect sensitive data.
Collaborate with other UTC Business Units on design patterns, methodology and system design to ensure a consistent approach across the corporation.
Support investigation and corrective action activity as required, ensuring corrective actions are meaningful, realistic and provide the intended benefit.
Act as a consultant to other IT professionals with questions about regarding Trade Compliance as it relates to IT and advise them on relevant best practices.
Develop and Maintain design standards for incorporating compliance controls in to system deployments.
Become an active IT BAER and support the needs of the organization by applying trade compliance knowledge.
Strong understanding of Enterprise IT systems a must
Strong leadership skills and customer relationship management experience a must
5-10 years working in an Information Technology related
position
Extensive experience with developing and deploying custom and commercially available software solutions
Working knowledge of IT concepts such as user management, authentication, authorization, access control lists & attribute based access controls required
Strong understanding of IT architecture concepts and system design mythology
Knowledge of Export Control and Compliance preferred, but not required
Proven project management skills
Ability to work independently and work with limited direction to accomplish project goals
Ability to recognize areas for process improvement & formulate actionable plans to address such areas.
Candidate must be an excellent communicator with both IT and business partners
