00 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago POSITION SUMMARY The Patient Financial Advocate is responsible for assisting patients and/or families with financial resource information.
The Patient Financial Advocate provide guidance to those patients who may qualify for Hardship /Charity Care related to company policies and federal programs.
The Patient Financial Advocate is also available to patients and families to answer questions regarding their insurance, to give estimates of co-pay amounts, and to assist patients with obtaining financial assistance when necessary.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Obtain insurance information from patients and address their questions regarding insurance, billing, and payments.
Collaborate with patients, Patient Financial Advocates, and Revenue Services Manager to resolve account balance issues, adhering to billing practices and policies.
Verify insurance eligibility for diagnostic tests and secure authorizations/referrals from appropriate sources.
Support imaging file room operations by submitting electronic images/medical records via AMBRA application, tracking progress towards completion.
Discuss estimated service costs and payment plan options with patients to ensure pricing transparency and compliance with the No Surprise Bill Act.
Maintain working knowledge of Corporate Compliance Plan policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to third-party billing and payment policies for various insurance carriers and specialties/modalities.
Respond to Attorney/Legal Requests within CT's 30-day timeframe, providing necessary documentation for patient cases.
Manage incoming calls, assessing customer needs and providing appropriate assistance.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes Demonstrated knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes Be proficient with Word, Excel, MedInformatix, or similar billing software Demonstrate strong research and analytical skills, as well as organizational skills Ability to multi-task and be flexible in completing assigned duties Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a medical setting required; billing or accounts receivable Radiology Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
